| Radio and TV personality possessed of excruciatingly sarcastic wit. |
| Morgan was the son of Eva (Lerner) and Henry Von Ost. He was of Austrian- and Russian-Jewish descent. |
| Was a cousin of playwright/lyricist Alan Jay Lerner. |
| He was a contributor on the NBC Radio weekend program "Monitor" on its first broadcast on June 12, 1955. He whimsically reviewed television programs that had been broadcast during that day. He continued working on "Monitor" for several years thereafter. Later, in 1966, he became one of the hosts and continued in that capacity until 1970. |
| Star of ABC (later NBC) Radio's "The Henry Morgan Show" (1946-1950). |
| Due to having the same name, he was often confused with the film/TV actor Harry Morgan, who in his earlier days had used the pseudonym "Henry Morgan." (But radio's Henry having used that moniker first, filmdom's Henry renamed himself Harry.)Ironically, the men were born only 10 days apart. |
